About Tattletag
Tattletag makes free badges that tell readers how much AI went into a piece of work. Four levels, six formats, five languages, and a few jokes.
Why four levels
Most labels offer two choices: made by a human or made by AI. Real work sits in between. A writer who uses AI to check grammar did not make an AI text, and an AI draft that an editor rewrote is not untouched machine output. The four levels (human-made, AI-assisted, AI-made and human-checked, AI-generated) cover those cases with one question each: who did the main work, and did a person check what the AI did?
Why the funny ones
Plenty of people would never put up a serious badge. Many of them would put up a sticker that says "Typos included at no extra cost". Every funny badge still names its real level, so it discloses as honestly as the plain one.
What a badge does not do
A badge does not make anyone compliant with the EU AI Act or any other law. Where a law asks for a label, it also says where the label goes and what it must say. The level pages and guides explain the rules we know of and link to the official texts.
How it works
The badges are plain images inside a plain link. They load no script and set no cookie. The generators run in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us. We count visits and copied badges with cookieless analytics, without storing anything on your device.
Languages
The site and the badges come in English, German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. The funny lines are written separately for each language, so the jokes work where they are read.
